Into the Wild

In english class we are about to start reading Jon Krakauer's book, "Into the Wild." It is about a young man named Christopher McCandless taking a massive journey into the Alaskan Wilderness. He was an American adventurer, but on his trip to Alaska he brought very little equipment with him. Christopher grew up in Annandale, Virginia. He graduated in May, 1990 from Emory University, and completely stopped communicating with his family. On September 6, 1992 McCandless was found dead in an abandoned bus in Alaska. Early in his journey, McCandless changed his legal name to Alexander Supertramp. He survived approximately 119 days in the Alaskan Wilderness, and he kept a journal.
